The uniform

ALL BLACK

No exceptions

Think Derby Day meets cocktail hour meets one hell of a dance floor. Dress up — properly dress up — just keep every piece of it black. Later in the night there’ll be glow sticks, party glasses and coloured lights everywhere, and the black is a deliberate choice so all of that pops in the photos.

Yes please

  • Black suits, black tuxes, black tailoring
  • Black dresses — long, short, sequinned, whatever you love
  • Black jumpsuits, black separates, black everything
  • Hats, headpieces and a bit of Derby Day drama
  • Black-on-black texture: velvet, satin, lace, leather

Not this time

  • Mostly black with a colourful jacket
  • A print with a bit of black in it
  • White, cream or anything bridal
  • A second outfit in another colour

Outfit #2

There’s a proper reset between 7:30 and 8:00 PM, so bring a second outfit for the dance floor if you want one.

Outfit #2 must also be all black.

Shoes

Wear the heels for the film and the photos, then bring flats, sneakers or slides for the dance floor. Two hours of DnB is a long time in a stiletto and we’d like you standing at 10 PM.

Glow sticks and party glasses are on us — you just bring the black.
